Vacation and King
I'm going to Florida. First time ever! My grandpa Ted lives there, but I've never gone.
Friday while at my mom's, I recieve a text from my roommate/sister/best friend. She's taking Wednesday-Friday off. Dr. Taylor is going to be away or something. Maria has been needing time away. Her boss told her about this place in Fl, only 13 hours away. I'm so excited.
She calls today to ask if I'd be okay with going to St. Louis instead cause she's worrying about money and etc... That would work too! I miss St. Louis, my Barnes & Noble, the city museum, the zoo. Then she starts talking about maybe just staying in Branson... Ew. We go there all the time, it is only an hour away. Where is the fun in that?
Anyway, she just called to say she's already got our room! Oh, wait, our beach condo! She didn't want the rooms cause we would have to drive to the beach. She wanted to stay right on the beach! How am I supposed to sleep tonight knowing we are heading out tomorrow when she gets home from work?
I wanted to bring Beautiful Creatures, but it is bulky, and I don't want a long drive and sandy beaches hurting it. So, I had to ponder what one book would work. (Packing light because I gave my small duffle bag to my sister when she moved.) I settled on Stephan King's Desperation! Used to have it in hardcover, but it was among my other hardcovers my dad was holding onto for me when I moved...them he got rid of them when he moved a short time after that.
Oh, so much to do! My laptop was the first thing on my list for packing. A beach and a condo? Yeah, pretty sure that's perfect for writing. I just started this book...the ocean is the best place I could be to write it. I'm going to take pictures and notes of everything, record it all for future reference! I haven't been to the ocean since I was a kid!
